SPANISH CLASSES

We have spent 5 afternoons during the last week taking Spanish lessons. We have been going to the beautiful city of Antigua, Guatemala for the lessons. Antigua is an old city that was destroyed in an earthquake many years ago. The people have just left the ruins there and have rebuilt their city. It makes for some amazing architecture. We know that we will be back many times to this beautiful place. It takes us about 45 minutes to drive there from our apartment...and usually just about an hour to drive home. It all depends on the traffic.....and the day of the week....just like commuting anywhere in a big city.

We had the same teachers for the entire week. My teacher's name was Alejandra and Wayne's was Ingrid. They were great. We reviewed everything from the beginning....except this time it is making so much more sense!! We are going to study all the things that we have covered this past week and then wait a couple of weeks and take another class. Alejandra and Ingrid are ready to have us come back!!

After we were finished we made them pose for a picture with us. Ingrid couldn't stop talking about how alto (tall) Elder Tomkinson was. When we looked at the picture we realized how short she was. We hadn't even noticed it before.


One of the neat things about Antigua is that it is a little higher elevation and we were able to have rain there almost every afternoon. You can actually see the rain in this picture and Wayne captured a thunderstorm during one of our sessions. I never get tired of seeing the rain!!
