It really feels like our mission has been divided into two parts....we are now starting Part Two!
We love Guatemala and the people here. When we got close to the city Jim and Rex Tilley met us and accompanied us into our apartment. They are in charge of security for the Area so it was a great welcome committee!! There are nine couples that live in our apartment complex. It is nicknamed the "Mormon Dorm". It reminds me of being in college...you just keep your door open and are able to see and talk to everyone.
When we opened the door to our apartment we were greeted with a welcome home sign, balloons, food in the refrig and cupboards, clean water and an invitation for dinner that evening. It has been amazing. I think that we have had more social activity in the last week and a half than the first year of our mission. We do miss the Adams'....but hope to be able to Skype them soon and see how they are doing in Tegucigalpa. We also miss the missionaries and hope to be able to keep up with the mission in Honduras.
We have signed up for Spanish lessons for the next week. There are lots of Spanish immersion schools here in Antigua...and we are going to take private lessons for the next week in the afternoons. We are excited and anxious to learn more. We are just at the point where we think that we are going to be able to make much progress. Time will tell...stay tuned next week for a report.
