One of the fun things about moving to Guatemala is being able to renew our friendship with Kim and Carolyn Taylor. He is serving as the medical advisor to Central America and they were our neighbors in the MTC in Provo. We got to see them once when they came to advise the mission in Honduras on health matters. They live two floors up from us in Victoria Suites (the Mormon Dorm).

This past Friday Taylors needed to go to the CCM......Centro de Capacitation Misional.....the Guatemalan MTC... and give a health talk to the missionaries that are leaving for their missions this next week. We went with them so that we could get to know the CCM and get a feel for how things work there. We will be providing any dental work that the missionaries might need while they are staying there.

It was so fun to be with the missionaries....we got there just as they were eating breakfast and having their immunizations caught up before leaving for the field. There are about 50-70 missionaries there at any given time. Most of them are from Central America and are going to serve in Central American countries. But the North American Elders who are going to serve in Guatemala spend their last 6 weeks there, and all of the North American Hermanas who are going to serve in Central America spend their last 6 weeks there.

As we were standing around, we heard a voice yell....Los Tomkinsons!!....it was one of the missionaries that we had helped complete his dental work for from Honduras. In fact we ran into two of those missionaries that morning. It was so fun to see them....and we got their picture with Wayne.

It was so fun to be around the missionaries. There is a great spirit at the CCM....of course there is....they are preparing for this important work. I was able to help in the demonstraton that Elder Taylor gave. He asked me to play the part of a "whiny" missionary....no problem there. It was a great day.
