LA FAMILIA PERDOMO

One of the most joyful experiences we have here in Honduras is associating with the people. We LOVE our ward and have learned so much from the wonderful Saints here. Last Sunday we were invited over to dinner at one of the member's homes. We have enjoyed this family from the first week in the area. The Perdomo family consists of a mother and her four children. They joined the Church about 6 years ago.

Theirs is a wonderful conversion story. They told us about the two Elders who baptized them....one is an Elder from Benson, AZ!! The Elders had tracked their street regularly...and the Perdomos made sure that they were unavailable every time...you know make sure the door is shut. That day the Elders stood in the street and just looked at the houses. They decided that the Perdomo house just had that "Spirit" about it....so they contacted them. The rest is history as they say. The entire family was baptized and they have remained active.

Mom is a member of the Relief Society Presidency. One of the boys has served a mission to Panama. Eymi is 19 and is attending University now...she earned her YW Medallion...and Perla (the blonde baby) just turned 11 and is anxious to start YW. It took us about 3 minutes to find out that High School Musical is her favorite movie. She wants me to come and watch it with her. Eymi helps me with piano lessons and plays for the ward every Sunday in Sacrament Meeting.

We had an enjoyable time at their home on Sunday. The food was FANTASTIC and the company great. We felt like royalty in their home. I was especially inpressed with the sign that they have hanging above their door:

It reads: God bless this home. What a wonderful family full of faith!! This is just one of the wonderful stories behind the families in our ward.
