GOOD TIMES...GOOD FRIENDS
This past week we have had some great experiences and some good times with our friends Mike and Linda Dick. Mike and Wayne were partners in the dental practice in Casa Grande for about 27 years. Wayne talks often about the fact that they have never had a business disagreement or a moment of worry about the other partner. It is a friendship that started in college at BYU (Wayne baptized Mike while they were going there).
We asked Mike and Linda to come to Guatemala to be the first visiting dentist in the clinic. We felt that they would be forgiving about any glitches that we are having. Things weren't entirely ready for the clinic to be open in full swing, (now probably not until January), but we were able to start exams on orphans, visit the CCM and preview missionary dental treatment and do some fun sight-seeing.
It was great to be able to renew this friendship in a different environment....away from the dental practice and the hustle and bustle of every-day normal life. All of our missionary friends were great and have convinced Mike and Linda that senior missionary life is certainly different than you originally think.
It was great to share this week with them and to be able to let them see why we love what we are doing. They were able to see us try to speak Spanish. We were able to spend Thanksgiving with them....and were thankful for this renewed friendship in our lives!!

That's so great they came down. I'm sure they loved it.
