A SEA OF PEOPLE

Marching down Blvd Suyapa

This morning we learned that the supporters of the new government in Honduras were going to hold another rally supporting democracy in Honduras as well as showing their lack of support for a Chavez-type government. When we left out apartment this morning, the organizers were starting to get ready right by our house for this rally. They were all wearing white and blue in support of the government.

They had a great turnout with 1,000s of people in a peaceful support for the government of Honduras. There were entire families again at the march. The march route was right down the main street next to our apartment that we take from the University to the Mission Office each afternoon. When we left the dental clinic we were surprised knowing that this was the route that all these people had taken just an hour previously.....we saw absolutely no litter or remnant of them being there.

One of our friends could look out of her job at Hospital Escuela and told us that it was so thrilling to see all of these people standing up for a democratic government in Honduras. I wish that we could have seen the march, but we were just thrilled that the dental clinic was open.....and Wayne was in heaven taking out wisdom teeth.

Look how close we are to the march!!

Later we saw these pictures in the paper. To put it in perspective our mission office is in the white five story building in the middle of the picture to the right of the march. It is the building between the two tall red buildings. We are on the third floor.

That's inspiring to see so many people care for their country. I can't believe how close you are to everything.

That is great to see people acting for a democratic government. What a commentary of what the will of the people really means.
